Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add my first pet?

Open the Pets tab and tap Add a pet. The wizard walks you through species, name, breed, birthday, and an optional photo. You can edit anything later from the pet's profile.

How does sync work? Do I need an account?

The app works fully offline — records you enter live on your device and persist across launches.

If you sign in (More → Account → Sign in), the same records sync to our server and become available on your other devices when you sign in there. Sync runs automatically when the app comes to the foreground; the dot in the top-right corner shows the current state.

What's the free vs. Pro difference?

Pro is $4.99/month or $29.99/year. Cancel anytime from your device's subscription settings (More → Subscription → Manage).

How do I sign in with Apple / Google?

On the Sign in / Sign up screen, tap the Apple or Google button. The OS opens the system flow, and on success you're returned to FurFamily already signed in. We never see your password.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Password reset is being added. In the meantime, email support@furfamilyapp.com and we'll trigger a reset for you. If you signed in with Apple or Google, you don't have a password — just use those buttons.

Where are my pet's photos stored?

Pet and event photos are stored on your device. They are not currently uploaded to our servers. If you delete the app or switch devices, photos do not transfer (the records themselves do). Cloud photo storage is on our roadmap.

How do I export my data?

Open More → Data → Export backup. The app generates a JSON file with every pet, vaccine, medication, reminder, and growth entry. Save it anywhere you'd save a regular file.

How do I import a backup?

Open More → Data → Import backup, paste the JSON contents, confirm. The import overwrites your current local data with the contents of the backup, then re-syncs.

Notifications aren't firing — what should I check?

How do I manage my subscription?

Open More → Subscription → Manage in the app. This deep-links to your platform's subscription page (Apple ID Subscriptions on iOS, Play Store Subscriptions on Android), where you can change plan, cancel, or restore purchases.

How do I delete my account?

Open More → Danger zone → Delete account and confirm twice. We delete your account, all synced records, and your authentication record. This is permanent. If you can't access the app, see /delete-account.

Is my data shared with anyone?

No third-party advertising or data brokers. We do use Firebase (Google) for authentication, analytics, crash reporting, and notifications, and RevenueCat for subscription state. The full breakdown is in the privacy policy.

What languages are supported?

English and Ukrainian are fully translated. Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese, and Polish are listed but currently fall back to English while translations are in progress.

How do I report a bug?

Email support@furfamilyapp.com with: what you were doing, what you expected, what happened, the version string from More → About → Version (looks like 0.1.0 + a short git hash), your device model and OS, and a screenshot if it's a visual issue.
