Heads up — this is permanent.
Deleting your account removes every pet record, vaccine entry, medication, reminder, growth measurement, and the account itself. We cannot recover deleted accounts. If you only want to stop notifications or change your email, see the alternatives at the bottom of this page.
The fastest way: delete from inside the app
If you still have FurFamily installed and can sign in, this is the recommended path — it's instant and self-service.
- Open FurFamily on your phone.
- Tap the More tab in the bottom bar.
- Scroll to the bottom and find Danger zone → Delete account.
- Read the first confirmation, tap Delete, then read the second confirmation and tap Delete again. The row shows a spinner while we remove your data from our servers.
What gets deleted
- On our server: your user record, every pet and pet-related entry (medical events, vaccines, medications, reminders, weight history, allergies, chronic conditions, caregivers), your synced backup, and your subscription flag.
- From Firebase Authentication: your sign-in identity (email + Apple/Google linkage). You can re-register with the same email afterwards if you change your mind.
- On your device: the local copy of every record, including any photos you attached to events or pet profiles.
What does not get deleted
- Receipts and subscription history at Apple or Google. Those are managed by the App Store / Play Store — we don't have access. To cancel an active subscription before deleting your account, see your phone's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on iOS or Play Store → Profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions on Android.
- Diagnostics logs kept by us are auto-pruned after 14 days regardless of deletion.
- Firebase Analytics events that were already collected are retained per the project's retention setting (default 14 months) before Google deletes them.
- Database backups. Backups containing your (now-deleted) data may persist for up to 30 days before backup rotation overwrites them.

Email us a deletion request:
Send the email from the address tied to your FurFamily account. Subject: Account deletion request. We will delete your account within 7 business days and reply once it's done. We may ask for proof of ownership if the email doesn't match an account on file.

Alternatives to deletion
If you're not sure deletion is what you want, consider these instead:
- Sign out — keeps your data on your device but stops syncing. More → Account → Sign out.
- Cancel subscription only — keeps your data, drops you back to the free tier. Manage via your phone's App Store / Play Store subscription settings.
- Turn off notifications — More → Notifications.
